Enabling the Greek Keyboard

You can enable and choose the Polytonic keyboard on Mac for use on any document or browser. However, you must know and memorize where the Greek letters are on the keyboard.

To enable the Polytonic keyboard,

Go to the Apple menu, select ‘System Preferences‘, and then ‘Keyboard.’

Go to Settings, click on ‘Input Sources’ and then the plus (+) sign.

You will see a notification on your Mac’s screen, ‘Browse using language & select and input source to add.’

Select Greek to proceed. With two options to choose from, i.e., Greek or Greek Polytonic, select Greek Polytonic and proceed to click Add. You will get the ‘Show input menu in the menu bar’ notification.

Check the option, and you will see ‘Greek Polytonic Keyboard.’ Notification on the top left side.

Open the document or browser you want to type and check ‘Greek Polytonic’ from the languages tab on the top left of your Mac’s screen.

Although typing Greek might seem complicated, it is easy if you follow the steps explained above.
