Times Square

And that’s not all—Times Square is the epicenter for all sorts of special events, like Fashion Week and New Year’s Eve celebrations. Rockefeller center
This historic landmark is home to iconic buildings, world-class attractions, fabulous eateries, and one-of-a-kind retail stores. It comprises 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres and offers views of 5 different skylines. The great thing is that you can take photos inside these beautiful buildings and make them the perfect backdrop for your Instagram feed. Don’t forget to Go Ice Skating or visit Historical Artwork. Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty is one of America’s most recognizable landmarks. It was given to the US by France as a way of showing appreciation for independence. It stands 305 feet tall and is located on Liberty Island in New York Harbor. While you can view it from nearby ferries, it’s best to take an organized tour. There are various tours available depending on how much time you have. One of the more popular ones lasts a few hours and takes you through the museum housed within the statue before boarding a ferry back to Manhattan. There’s no fee for entering the museum, but tickets can be purchased ahead of time online to avoid waiting in line.
Metropolitan Museum of Art
This museum has several galleries housing historical artifacts and works of art. It’s known as one of the world’s largest museums and one of five U.S museums that are part of thirteen institutions referred to as The Museum Mile. The Met contains various different objects, such as paintings, drawings, sculptures, arms, armor, etc. The Met also houses a garden, which is open to the public. As a visitor, you can enjoy all of the exhibitions for free. However, you are required to pay for entrance into the garden.
Ellis Island
This is a national treasure; you can’t visit New York without seeing it. Located in Upper New York Bay, the castle-like structure symbolizes hope for immigrants who came to the United States for a better life. Millions passed through the doors from 1892 to 1954, and today you can still walk in their footsteps and imagine what it would have been like to experience the building firsthand. You’ll also learn about the history of Ellis Island, which is a great story in and of itself. The museum is full of interactive exhibits that allow you to learn about what it was like to emigrate through the eyes of someone who actually lived through it.
Vising the Islands
There are many islands in New York City, but they don’t all have the same type of vibe. The four main ones are Roosevelt Island, Governor’s Island, Ellis Island, and Liberty Island. For example, Roosevelt Island is more residential while Governor’s Island has lovely views of the Manhattan skyline, and Ellis Island is more historical with museum tours available. Coney Island

Staten Island Ferry

East River

The High Line – NYC
This great popular public park was converted from an elevated freight railway line on Manhattan’s west side. Constructed on a former railroad trestle, the path runs for 1.45 miles, providing excellent views of both midtown and downtown Manhattan. You’ll pass through several acres of restored wildflowers and grasses, small ponds, and children’s play areas. So if you love urban exploration and nature, the High Line is a must-see.
World Trade Center
If you’re interested in learning about NY history, then there is no better place than the World Trade Center. The center consists of seven tall buildings standing next to each other, forming what looks like two towers. Visitors are welcomed into the site by two larger bronze fountains marking the corners of a square plaza leading up to the museum entrance. A reflecting pool stretches out in front of the museum, containing memorial sculptures and trees from around the world. Inside, a powerful multimedia exhibit tells the story of September 11th and its aftermath. Afterward, look for the pavilion honoring military personnel killed in the attacks. You will find the names of those who died here written in the steel beams of the fallen tower. All around, benches offer a place to reflect and remember loved ones lost.
Little Italy
This neighborhood is home to Italian immigrants. Today, it’s home to many businesses run by families with Italian names, including butchers, bakeries, cheese shops, and trattorias. Don’t miss an opportunity to buy fresh mozzarella or handmade pasta. But you will also find plenty of restaurants, cafes, and nightlife. You’ll also find Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the seat of the Catholic Archdiocese of New York, and Holy Rosary Church, the oldest Roman Catholic church in the state and famous for its annual holy week procession.
Top of the Rock NYC
Located in Rockefeller Center, The top of the rock is one of New York’s most iconic attractions that provides some amazing views from its observation deck.
